FISM CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
After the successful Continental Championships in North America, Europe and Asia, Latin America proved that it is able to hold its own with the other continents. The FISM Latin American Championships were hosted by FLASOMA (Federación Latin-‐Americana de Sociedades Mágicas). The convention was organized in Montevideo, Uruguay, from 4 to 8 February. It was attended by about 400 magicians from the following Latin American countries: Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico and Ecuador. Quite some ‘aficionados’ had come all the way from Spain.
Sincere congratulations are due to the President Sergio Ferrer and his crew for the flawless organization of the event. (Granted! Some of the scheduled activities started late, but it was wonderful to see that no‐one was in the least upset by this.)
We are also very grateful to FLASOMA General Secretary, Héctor Carrión, who was perfect in combining this demanding job with his duties as FISM Continental President. Special thanks go to Daniel Ketchedjian who was very efficient as President of the Jury.
